Congratulations to our Vice President of Education Dan Kuhn (MSW, University of Illinois at Chicago; LCSW) for receiving the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Illinois District. In both his professional and personal work, Dan has exemplified the basic tenets of the social work profession, and giving a voice to those who are without voices. Since joining the All Trust Team in September 2014, Dan has added so much to our agency. His vast knowledge of dementia care has taken our services to an even higher level of providing superior dementia training to our caregivers.
Dan’s personal mission is to enhance the well-being of people living with dementia and to support and educate those involved in their care. For more than 40 years he has been a licensed clinical social worker and educator in the fields of healthcare and aging. Since 1987 he has focused on dementia care, end-of-life care, and family caregiving issues. Dan has worked for several local organizations including the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center, the Alzheimer’s Association, and Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care. He has authored or co-authored more than 50 publications including Alzheimer’s Early Stages: First Steps for Family, Friends, and Caregivers (Third Edition, 2013).
