Who is Dan Kuhn?
For more than 40 years, Dan Kuhn has served as an educator and advocate in the fields of health and aging. His focus has been on dementia care, end-of-life care and family caregiving. Dan previously worked with the Alzheimer’s Association and The Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center. Equally important to his extensive career, Dan authored or co-authored over 50 professional publications including journal articles, book chapters, educational videos, web-based programs and training manuals, including two books, The Art of Dementia Care and Alzheimer’s Early Stages: First Steps for Family, Friends and Caregivers. Dan has provided quality education and resources for caregivers, professionals and families. He has given hundreds of presentations to professionals and family caregivers. In addition, he has initiated and led grant projects aimed at improving the care of people with advanced dementia living in the Chicago area.
In 2015, Dan received the ¨Lifetime Achievement Award¨ from the Illinois Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. In 2009, he earned the “Mental Health and Aging Award” from the American Society on Aging. Then, in 2014 he received the ¨Advocacy Award¨ from the Illinois Association for Music Therapy. He earned his Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois in Chicago. He is a licensed clinical social worker.

Contribution to All Trust
Dan developed and trained many of our Care Pros in his Advanced Dementia program. Since joining All Trust in 2014, Dan trained over 12,000 people through his Continuing Education programs. His audience has included, Nurses, Social Workers, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors, Nursing Home Administrators, Physical Therapists and family caregivers as well. Since late 2021, Dan is enjoying traveling more and working less, and continues to serve All Trust as our Alzheimer’s Expert.
